Hear the Sound of Music playing in your head? Yeah, that’s not what this is. I realized it’s been a while since we ventured into my favorite place on earth, so I figured it was time for a return visit. Plus this is what my brain vomited up today. Nice visual, isn’t it?
So here goes with the Black Dog version of my favorite things about Disney World. (Cue cool Mouse Music.) Feel free to agree, disagree, comment, tell me I’m an idiot and have no idea what I’m talking about. It’s all good.
Favorite place to stuff our yaps:
I’m actually embarrassed to say – and hope my Disney Dork card doesn’t get revoked – but in all my visits to Animal Kingdom, I’ve always missed this little beauty until the last time I was in my happy place. Tucked away right around the corner from Expedition Everest, this little gem sings to my vegetarian heart with the yummiest shrimp lo mein I’ve ever snarfed down. Word to the wise: pay a visit AFTER Expedition Everest. Just sayin’.
Favorite place to get our drink on:
It was a close fight between the pub and La Cava del Tequila. What gave the Rose and Crown the edge? Accents, the Hat Lady, and the close proximity to British Invasion – our favorite spot to make total idiots of ourselves.
Favorite thrill ride:
This was also a tough decision. With so many awesome-sauce options to choose from, narrowing down to just one was a bit of a brain pickle. What edges Rockin’ Roller Coaster out over Tower of Terror and Expedition Everest? I like my stomach where it is and not relocated to my brain or ankles, and honestly – who’s afraid of a big, fuzzy, somewhat hairy snowman who needs a shave and a shower?
Favorite breakfast item: No words necessary.
And of course, no Black Dog post would be complete without…
Favorite runDisney race:
Night start – big score. BIG. After party – BODACIOUS. Party until the sun starts coming up as you stagger back to your hotel – PRICELESS. Seriously, how can you possibly top that? Why would one try? Knowing you’ve got the perfect reason to run your dupa off so you can get to the after party faster is pretty good motivation to get my short little dumpy hamster legs a-rollin’.
So there you have it – just a few of Black Dog’s Disney World faves. Isn’t your life complete now that you have this knowledge? Thought so. You’re welcome.
Enjoy the ride.
Tellmetellmetellme! What are some of your favorite things about Disney World? Never been? Then just guess! No answer is a stupid one! Unless you say Stitch’s Wild Ride. Then I yank your Dork card.
I hope to run Wine & Dine next year. I hear too many good things to miss it much longer. You can’t go wrong with any combo of those 3 rides. The cronut that you can get at Epcot would certainly be on my best of list.
Oh geesh, ANOTHER sugar filled slice of delightful deliciousness! And even though I was going to go on a runDisney strike after this year’s Wine and Dine, I am definitely caving to peer pressure. It’s just too much fun!
I can’t participate cause I haven’t been to WDW since I was 3. But I want to go with my Chewsday Chicas so I can learn the ropes!
No worries! Kellie has promised to win the lottery this weekend. Then we can all quit our jobs and move to Disney World.
I have yet to eat or drink at Rose and Crown, but we have dining reservations for while we’re there in December. So looking forward to it!
The best part is crashing the outdoor patio for Illuminations! Be sure to order some “chocolate milk”. (Black Dogspeak for Bailey’s 🙂
Ohh Lord!
Now I can’t get rid of “The hills are alive with the sound of music…”
Thanks to your first line.
Thank you!!!
Haven’t been to Disney in ages, 8 years perhaps.
I’m a Six Flags kinda guy.
Now picture me skipping and signing “I go to the hills when my heart is lonely……”
With Doggy skipping alongside you of course!
wow Never even heard of or seen Yum Central! we must check it out while we’re there for #WineDIneHalf! esp since my wife is a quasi veggi! Know what you mean about narrowing it down for fav ride! I’d have a tough time as well! Aerosmith is def up there on my fav as well as tower of terror also included are the toy story ride and Star wars(prob top of my list actually). 4 years of Disney so far and no races until this november! We are really looking forward to the WIne and Dine half! I will be doing the 5k in the morning then the half in the evening. ALos we signed up for princess half in Feb; so i guess i’ll let you know which is my fav after that lol. great post and thanks for bringing back some memories, although I ust admit Disney is never far from my heart anyways 😉 #KeepSmilin 🙂
One of these days I just may add the 5k, but getting up that early is a dealbreaker right now. But the costumes are awesome! I guarantee you guys will love the Yak and Yeti. I would suggest it for an early lunch as you can just walk right in. The servers will even give you a little tour of the place on the way to your table and encourage you to walk around and check everything out. Let me know how you like it and we’ll see you in November!
